F-104G Starfighter, Minicraft Kit in 1/144
Built for the Anything Goes Campaign on AeroScale
Febuary 1, 2013 - July 31 , 2013
These are the 1st 1/144 Scale Kits I have done, and although I know its not my best work, I am happy with them, and I learned a lot. These photos are of 2 kits of the F-104G Starfighter, 1 in U.S. Markings, and the other in Canadian Markings.
Both paint schemes are the same, I used Model Master Non buffing aluminum metalizer on the body. Model Master Aircraft Gray on the undersides of the wings and fuel tanks, and Model Master White for the upper wing surfaces.
The Decals, although small were trouble free. I used glosscoat over the entire model. Not many problems with assembly. It was a pretty basic build. I picked up a bunch of 1/144 kits at a sale for about $3 each. We will see what happens with the rest of them.
"The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is a single-engine, high-performance, supersonic interceptor aircraft originally developed for the United States Air Force (USAF) by Lockheed. One of the Century Series of aircraft, it served with the USAF from 1958 until 1969, and continued with Air National Guard units until it was phased out in 1975."
