Model Gallery:   Sd.kfz. 223, Tamiya kit in 1/35

Built for the Spahwagen Abteilung! campaign spahwagen on Armorama.com

9/01/05 to 9/28/05

Build Notes:

This Model is my first attempt at using Tamiya acrylics for most of the model.

This is the first time i've done a panzer grey color that I kinda liked.

Basecoat is German Grey XF-63. sprayed with the badger 360 airbrush. 70% paint 30% thinner. at 22 to 24 psi.

The future was straight from the bottle at 25 psi. followed by an black oil wash.

Lightened up german gray with some Tamiya buff. resprayed model lightly.

Decals were applied.. (2nd time because the first time the decals screwed up)

Resprayed future again. followed by some thinned tamiya buff paint for shading and filtering.

headlights and mirrors and with indicators are light grey.

Exhausts are brush painted with model master burnt iron. then rust pastels applied after drying.

Grey pastels were applied along with a bit of rust here and there.. followed by a coat of testers dullcoat.

This model came out ok for my skill level at the time I built it, but after a while the monotone look of the finished kit just didn't do it for me.
