Model Gallery:    Sd.Kfz. 251/1 Hanomag Tamiya Kit in 1/35th.

Build Notes: 

This model by Tamiya is for a Hanomag Sd.Kfz. 251/1 Armored Personnel Carrier, it is the old tooling so the kit is not really that accurate but I picked it up on the cheap for practice. It is a German Half-track that was widely used, mine is a C version, mostly. The Markings are for the 14 Panzer-Division, 1st vehicle in the 4th Platoon of 2nd Company.

To tell the truth I really hated this kit. The fit of the body is not that good. And the inside was almost totally bare. The only part of the inside that came with the kit were the seat bottoms.. There were no seat backs or the seat back racks. I scratch built those using pictures I found in the Squadron book. There is also almost no weathering done on this model. This was my 2nd armor project and lets just say this model was lucky to be finished.

At first I was going to leave it a solid panzer gray, but I really hated how it turned out so I sprayed on some olive grun paint in a camouflage pattern and It looked much better. My favorite part of this model would have to be the helmets and equipment I added and the Forward facing MG.

The photos are not that great as they were taken with a 2 megapixal camera, and this was the last time I attemted to airbrush with an aztek airbrush.
