Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser Build Blog.
Part One |
This is Round 2's reissue of the Amt Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser I am building for the Star Trek Campaign on Kitmaker.net
I got most of the assembly work done on my Klingon D7. One thing I will say is there is a lot of sanding to be done on this one to get the 2 sides of forward boom to match up. I thought I might sand all the way through the plastic before I got them evened up.. and then I had to turn an irregular oblong hole into something more round for the photon torpedo launcher. It is taking some work but it is starting to shape up. Just a few more rough parts to fill out and now here are the photos.

First Base coat
This D7 is a bear esp on the seams. I can say there is no putty used, I hate the stuff which is prob why I almost sanded through the plastic in a spot or two.. anyways here is the base coat down, there are no painting instructions in the kit, and the internet has a couple of different answers, Some research says the model used in the series was painted a light green / light purple color. I am going to use my artistic thinking cap and hope what I think looks good.. 1st color is a very light blue.
Part Three |
Second color is on, every now and then I like to try something different, I'm doing my similar but not exactly like the studio models or any others I'm seen. got a couple of spots to add coverage too but so far soo good..
Part Four |
Accent Color Added
Did some more painting.. It turns out the Captain of this D7 thinks of himself as a Warrior's Warrior.. and being successful has added some blood red accents to his ship.. The color is a custom semi-gloss dark scarlet or as I call it Klingon Battle Red.

Part Six |
Decals added but waiting for final clear coat which will prob stop the sivering.
