Walk Around Photo Feature:     G-527 Water Trailer

This Photo set contains 14 photos of a WWII era 1 ton,  250 Gallon WaterTrailer, know sometimes by the name 'Ben Hur', as it was manufactured by Ben Hur, also by  Checker, and Springfield.

The G-527 Trailer, Water, 250 gallon, 1 Ton, 2 Wheel was towed by 3/4 ton or heavier vehicles to provide drinking water to the field. A hand pump at the front of the tank delivered the water to dispensing faucets.

I took these at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum's World War II Weekend in June 2012.  The vehicle shown is a restored example on display as a living history exhibit.
